8/26/21 Missions Prayer Requests

Subject: 8/26/21 Missions Prayer Requests

Pray Requests:

Rajiv KC – Calvary Chapel Kathmandu, Nepal

Praise Reports:

  • Birth of his cousin’s wonderful daughter.
  • Able to distribute food in the leprosy colony and had good fellowship with them. It was also sad because we found out a few people they knew had passed away.
  • A close friend, Sampos aka Happy, was missing for a few days but now is back.

Prayer Requests:

  • Please pray for the upcoming Bible College that will be meeting in person. Need wisdom to run it in person.
  • Also, teaching this Sunday and starting to teach the Book of Proverbs to the youth. All this is by His grace, so please continue to pray for wisdom.
  • I still need prayer for my back, but it’s a little better.
  • My sister’s blood pressure is very high and needs prayer.

Juventine and Elizabeth Emuku, Calvary Chapel Soroti, Uganda

Prayer Requests:

  • There’s an 18 year old named Mark. He came to the hospital two weeks ago because he attempted suicide. He’s been gay for about four years. He opened up and said that his mother and father physically fight everyday. The kids have a very hard time with this. He thought he didn’t want a girlfriend or a woman because of his parents fighting. Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk to them. But then Mark walked to the hospital at 1 am. He and his family really need prayer. His father’s name is Charles. I have another meeting with them next Wednesday.
  • There’s a young married couple, Walter and Oliver. They’re being discipled in one of our churches. They come from a Catholic family and brother is a priest. When Walter gave his life to Christ, his family was furious. They burned down his home to the ground. Walter and Oliver are in hiding right now, but they are determined to come back to the church.
  • I was getting some information from the Minister of Health yesterday and found out that Soroti is the epicenter of Covid right now. They don’t have many cases of Covid, but it has the most cases in the country. There’s so many people in the hospital right now. Pray for Soroti that it doesn’t blow up with Covid.
  • We have been trying to build a village church. They’re beginning to start on the roof. Pray that the workers will be safe as they do the roofing. We hope to finish the sanctuary in the next 30 days.
  • Please pray for my allergies. They’re really bad right now.
  • They completed construction of the building for offices and a dental clinic. Pray we find the right dentist who knows the Lord.

Mike and Sherill Sedillo, Hearts4Africa, Naluko, Uganda

Praise Reports:

  • We haven’t had a Covid patient in three weeks. Praying the cases will continue to go down, so the schools and churches can go back to normal.
  • Regarding the NGO status, we got a yes to use the U.S. Constitution. Praying the status will be settled soon. Praying for the property where the guest housing is at, because it is not secured. Dr. Patrick donated that land. Pray he would be willing to enter into a 99 year lease with us and that he would have a soft heart towards us and what we’re doing. Please pray for Dr Patrick’s heart and faith. We want to settle this peaceably and that we can afford it.
  • We want to thank the Lord for the C12 ministry and the people who are stepping forward to help Sherill run this 40 person ministry. They’re also helping us to move to the next level of this ministry to have a paid person on board to help me manage everything. Mike says that Sherill is carrying far too much responsibility and our prayer on a daily basis is for her to get help. God has been helping her and that’s been great but the ministry in Naluko is only getting bigger, not smaller or staying the same. Last month we delivered 37 babies, so we need a bigger facility for the women and an inpatient building as well.

Prayer Requests:

  • Praying success for our October fundraiser, so we will have all the payroll we need in the future. Praising God that we have the funds for payroll until the fundraiser, so I don’t have to worry.
  • We have a water situation on the property. We have issues with the water tank and the pumps. I’m researching a couple of solutions having to do with how we wire it and which pumps we should use. I have to get a survey done on how well the wells are producing and how deep they are. Since we have to spend money on this project, we want the Lord’s guidance and wisdom for Mike V and I as we evaluate this situation so it will be cost effective and the water system to be dependable. We are expecting a team of doctors to come at the beginning of next year. We want the doctors to have a good experience, so they will come back. Pray for Abdul as he helps us with this as well. He was our solar guy.
  • Please pray for Dr Joffrey. He’s going through some struggles.
  • Also want to lift up Majok and Laura’s wedding. He asked for prayer that the financial part of it would all come together. It’s very expensive to have an introduction and a wedding in Uganda.

Cal and Jessica Stuebner, Calvary Chapel Managua, Nicaragua

Praise Reports:

  • Jessica’s schedule is back to normal.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for Pastor Mike’s leg to get better.
  • Pray for Cesar’s gallbladder surgery. That he’d get a good surgeon and a successful surgery.
  • Please continue to pray for the children’s ministry.
  • They want to see more fellowship on Friday nights. They want it to be a time of unity and fellowship.

Jon and Allison Brechtel, Calvary Chapel Oaxaca, Mexico

Praise Reports:

  • We just got back from the states and had a good time.

Prayer Requests:

  • They seem to be in a Code Red, but nobody seems to be closing anything. There’s a lot of fear here. The people are afraid and there does seem to be a lot of death. Praying the people would be cautious and have a healthy fear, but that they wouldn’t allow the fear to control them. There’s a lot of people that live in remote places and that adds to the fear. We’re remaining open at this time and praying the Covid cases would decrease.
  • Please keep me in prayer. We’re trying to do the Church Planting School and raise up leaders. We do have one person that is praying about going out and planting a church. It’s a two year long commitment. I need prayer to organize and run it.
  • We have to change our church name. It conflicts with a church that was here before us. Praying it will be resolved graciously and without issue. I want to maintain a good relationship with them.

Gary and Carol Kusunoki, Anchored International Relief

Prayer Requests:

  • Want to lift up Afghanistan in prayer because more than 40 people have been killed in the Kabul bombing.
  • We’re heading out to Colorado Springs next week to spend time with our daughters. Hannah can’t make it because she has started a new teaching job.
  • After Colorado, we leave for New York City to do a 911 20 year memorial service. Please pray for open doors to share the Gospel and that it would be received. There will be a lot of police and fire fighters there. The climate in NYC is really anti-police, so it’s a difficult time for them. Praying for safety there. We should be well protected there with so many police that will be there.
  • After New York City, we leave September 16th to go to Farmington, New Mexico. On the 17th, I will be sharing at a Sheriff’s event dealing with depression and suicide. They had one of their deputies commit suicide a few months ago, so they felt compelled to do this event.
  • On October 16th and 17th, we’re speaking in Northern Mexico at a Pastor’s Conference in Tijuana.
  • October 23rd we’re going back to Uganda for a couple of months.
  • We’re still recovering from our jet lag. We’ve been exhausted.
  • Last night, I had some swelling in my hand and in my joints.
  • Carol has had a hard time falling asleep and been having weird allergies.

Mark and Isabelle Secor – Apache Reservation in Arizona

Praise Reports:

  • Mark got a clean bill of health regarding his heart issues. Very grateful to the Lord for that.
  • Our medical insurance paid for his whole heart procedure, even though the hospital thought our insurance would not pay, so thank you Jesus.
  • The Lord brought me another Sunday School teacher, so we can split the class. We had 3-16 year olds together. He answered that prayer rather quickly!!!
  • My friend, Dave Schroeter who had Covid is out of the hospital.
  • Mark is teaching a Bible Study Thursday nights. He’s also teaching this Sunday. He really desires to be led by the Holy Spirit.
  • I still have my Bible Basics class. I always have 1-3 people show up. I also want to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Requests:

  • I have teenagers in my Sunday School class. They are not happy to be there. I had asked the Lord for some tough kids to teach, because they really need Him. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to break through.
  • Please continue to pray for the 9 year old that has dyslexia. The tutoring is going well, but slow. 🙂
  • Pray for the new Sunday School teacher. She’s excited and a little scared.
